Ted Doane

Ted Doane, FCPA, FCA, CRMA. As Executive Director Internal Audit for the Province of Nova Scotia, Ted has the responsibility for delivering internal audit services to the provincial government. He is a strong proponent of continuous improvement and utilizes those tools to operate an effective audit organization. Ted joined the Province from the Nova Scotia Community College where he held the position of Director, Internal Audit for eight years. He is a graduate of Acadia University, earning his CA designation with Doane Raymond (now Grant Thornton LLP) in 1991. He has actively supported a number of professional associations including the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia (ICANS), and the Government Internal Auditors Council of Canada (GIACC). Ted is past president for ICANS, and served on the Steering Committee for unifying the accounting profession. Ted has also served on the executive and boards of many not-for-profit organizations.
