Scott has been with Wajax Corporation for 18 years. 12 years as the Director, Internal Audit.
Scott has nearly 30 years of internal audit, public audit, financial and operational experience, representing a variety of businesses including distribution, service, manufacturing, rental and government. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), a certified member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (CIA), has his certification in the IIA’s Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA) and has his certification in the IIA’s Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA). He also is accredited by the IIA in performing Internal Quality Assessments.
Scott is passionate about the internal audit profession and serving the profession. Scott’s volunteer experience with The Institute of Internal Auditors (“IIA”) includes: IIA Toronto Chapter Audit Committee Chairman (since 2015); IIA Toronto Chapter Governor (since 2013); IIA Toronto Chapter Treasurer (since 2010-2013); IIA Global Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee Member (since 2015); IIA Canadian Nominating Committee Member (2015); IIA Learning Solutions Committee member (2006-2015); IIA Canada Education Committee member (2009-2013); Speaker at the IIA Risk Conference in 2005; Speaker on IIA Canada Webinar (June 2011 – Effective Reporting to Boards and Audit Committees); Speaker on an IIA Canada Webinar (March 2012 – Strategies for Managing the Small Audit Shop); Speaker on IIA Global Panel Discussions (2014).
Scott received the 2014 Volunteer of The Year Award from the IIA Toronto Chapter for demonstrated commitment to The Chapter.
Wajax Corporation received a 2015 Mastering Risk Award for Risk Management and Internal Audit in the Private Sector. The survey elicited more than 110 responses from a broad cross-section of Canadian business and public sector organizations. Wajax Corporation received Canada’s first award for achievement in private sector risk management and internal audit.
Scott has been married to his wife for 29 years and has 3 kids and 1 granddaughter.
Scott enjoys golf, darts and fine wine.
