From Auditor to Chief Audit Executive: A Strategy for Success
Michael will discuss how participants will think about their future and the required skill sets and competencies to be successful in their careers as an Internal Auditor. Successful people are passionate about what they do – “if you love what you’re doing, it will be so much easier to develop the other success traits” This presentation will review the soft skills that need to be coupled with technical skills for auditors to advance their careers. The Path to the CAE has changed and how Auditors can at all levels stay focused on it.
The presentation will discuss Coachability: the ability to accept and implement feedback from bosses, colleagues, customers and others; Emotional Intelligence: the ability to understand and manage one’s own emotions, and accurately assess others’ emotions; Motivation: Sufficient drive to achieve one’s full potential and excel in the job; Temperament: Attitude and personality suited to the particular job and work environment and Technical Competence: Functional or technical skills required to do the job.
